The Colonia De Braganza is at a superb point within Calangute. The complex itself is tucked away and retains a peaceful ambience, but with shops and bars within 200 metres and the beach only 7-10 mins walk away. The area leading to the beach is scattered with attractive bars restaurants and souvenir shops. An ideal location for those attracted to the cultural aspects of India and Goa, with a bit of "Western style" night life thrown in. The Complex The complex boasts two swimming pools, a large main pool near the bar/restaurant area, and a more tranquil secluded smaller pool...both are very well maintained. Probably not suitable for the elderly or infirm as 3rd floor level with 7 "half flights" of stairs WIFI is now available free of charge at the complex.....in the patio area and WIFI AVAILABLE, (3G ENABLED) WEF OCTOBER 2015 in the actual apartment The property is now equipped with water filter and room safe In the outside area there is a tasteful mix of small lawns and trees. The outdoor sheltered bar/restaurant area is excellent and is open from breakfast till late. The apartment Well maintained, one double bedroom, with sofa additional bed pull out. Suited to a maximum of 2 adults plus 2 smaller persons! Includes fridge/freezer, A/C, lovely clean shower and W/C facilities. Cable TV provided. Lovely balcony view of the adjacent small pool area Generally one of the slightly more peaceful spots within the overall complex. A brilliant base for enjoying, (and exploring beyond) a perfect North Goa location. In terms of the local area, Calangute is a medium size town......at the centre, of which, is where the Calangute beach road meets at the roundabout where the right turn leads to the Baga Road....most of the night time activity is around this area....equally interesting are the slightly fewer bars, restaurants and hotels that are apparent when one turns left at this same roundabout. Why did I buy a property in this area? Generally the known quality of the builders...and also the location. Excellent complex facilities... slightly away from the beaten track...but still within easy range of the "hot spots" i have absolute confidence that the pool area and immediate surroundings will be excellently maintained Bars Shops and Restaurants in relation to the poperty? In short, the immediate area itself is away from the beaten track...within 5 mins walk however is the most amazing multitude of bars/shops/reataurants etc.
